V. “Sonny” Montgomery (D-MS), Chairman, Committee on Veterans’ Affairs This is “Sonny:” Honorable Bill Cohen SONNY’S SUMMARY My friend Bill Cohen, a former Secretary of Defense, United States Senator, and Representative, graciously highlights in his own words my nearly 40 years in public life.

Bush—during his presidency—kept his gym gear in Sonny’s locker. The All-Volunteer Force in the 1970s became a major instrument of national security policy.

INITIATIVE AND OPPORTUNITY… Folks, I’d like each chapter’s “lessons learned” to speak to the realities of writing laws rather than generalities associated with legislative theory.
